NGORONGO CONSERVATION AREA

Ngorongoro Conservation Area, located in Tanzania, is a natural wonder and one of the most remarkable geological features on Earth. Often referred to as the “African Eden” or the “Garden of Eden,” it is a massive volcanic caldera formed over two million years ago. The crater measures approximately 12 miles (20 kilometers) in diameter and is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including the “Big Five” (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros).

The property has global importance for biodiversity conservation due to the presence of globally threatened species, the density of wildlife inhabiting the area, and the annual migration of wildebeest, zebra, gazelles and other animals into the northern plains.

Its unique geography and favorable climate have created an ecological haven, making it a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must-visit destination for safari enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Visitors can witness the stunning landscapes, abundant wildlife, and the intricate balance of nature that exists within this spectacular crater.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area has breathtaking landscapes, mountains, world’s largest unbroken caldera, history of human evolution, and so much more. One has to visit to see and believe it.
