Mzima Springs are a series of four natural springs in Tsavo National Park, Kenya. They are located in the west of the Park, around 48 km from Mtito Andei. The source of the springs is a natural reservoir under the Chyulu Hills to the north. The springs are particularly famous for their resident populations of hippos and Nile crocodiles. Hippos often laze in the water, while crocodiles can be seen basking in the sun on the banks or gliding silently beneath the surface. To observe the underwater world and the animals, Mzima Springs has a system of underwater observatories. Visitors can walk along a network of boardwalks and viewing points that provide an excellent vantage point for observing the aquatic life in their natural habitat.
